Starting Young Horses
· Dressage prospects started according to the USDF training scale. Early training based on Rudolf Zeilinger methods. · Hunters & Jumpers started according to recommendations of DeNemethy Method · Western Horses started according to the areas of interest of the owner
Whether English or Western, the youngster has to be physically conditioned to be strong enough to take the training. All the young horses must have good ground manners. The early introduction of the blanket and saddle and the weight of the rider are done quietly in the stall. Then he is lead around with the rider.
If appropriate, round pen training is used. I enjoy liberty work and will be happy to demonstrate the methods and benefits of liberty work.
I am experienced with ponies and horses, and have worked with many breeds, but no gaited horses.
I try to make it fun and stress free for the horse, the trainer and the owner.
I also help people who are afraid of their horses, have had an accident, or just a bad fright, to regain confidence.
