How D Silver (aka Dundee)

1999 slate grullo AQHA, FQHA stallion
Introductory fee $450
Special consideration to proven mares, black and grullo AQHA mares

Please note that these photos show "Dundee" (registered name - How D Sliver) in pasture condition, he has never been fitted. This is his natural muscling. We will take new photographs around May, when he has shed his winter coat and is more physically fit. Nonetheless, he is an impressive fellow, who is "wowwing" everyone who has come to see him. His temperament is exceptionally good. He is gentle and very quick at picking up on new skills. He is also 96% foundation bred! Click here for pedigree. Dundee will be bred to all of our mares not already engaged to outside stallions. His book will be limited to a few select outside mares for 2002. Shipped semen may be available in early March, we will keep you posted.
Rear view
This shot most accurately shows Dundee's color - that rarest of shades - grullo. Why are grullos so rare? Both parents must transmit a recessive black gene to the foal, plus it must inherit the dun factor gene, which dilutes the black base coat to the unique grullo shades.
